Patriarch John X, primate of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and all the East. has lifted up his prayers for Lebanon before the icon of the Mother of God, in the Monastery of Our Lady of Saydnaya.

The patriarch declared that the Church stands by the Lebanese people who came out to the streets to decry their hard and difficult life, that has reached a terrible and dangerous condition.

The Church reminded the authorities that it is most significant to listen to the people and to face the various problems in a responsible manner through serious dialogue and real measures, conducive to overcome the present crisis and save the country from collapsing so that our children can find a better future.

The Church inviteed all those who came out to protest and show their pain and their longing for a country that responds to their ambitions, to remain decent and avoid all actions that could only complicate the life conditions of people.
