The Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM) in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan denounces the heinous crime committed by the ISIS organization against Jordanian hero, the martyr Muaz Kasasbeh, may his soul rest in peace.
A statement has been issued by Director of the Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM) Fr. Rif'at Bader conveying condolences to the family and tribe of the martyr as well as the sons of Karak Governorate. Following is the text of the statement|:
The Christian Churches in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan convey their deep sorrow and sadness over the martyrdom of pilot Muaz Safi Yousef Kasasbeh. As the Churches denounce this heinous crime against humanity, they ask all citizens to reinforce their national unity under the Hashemite leadership, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein.
The Churches calls on the faithful to ring the bells of sadness at 12:00 noon in all Churches in the Kingdom and calls on the priests and the believers to celebrate special Masses and hold prayers at 6:00pm on Wednesday for the loss of the martyr of the homeland, the son of the Jordanians, for promoting national unity, and for the leadership of this country and its security apparatus, the watchful eye on the security of this dear country, and for maintaining Jordan as strong as ever in the face of extremism, violence and isolation. The Churches will hold prayers as well in the first week of February for harmony among religions, so that religions will constitute a factor conducive for peace, harmony and unity among the people rather than a factor leading to division, killing, oppression and dispute.
On this painful calamity, the Churches in Jordan convey sincere condolences to the family of the martyred hero pilot Kasasbeh and to the Jordanian people who rally behind their Hashemite leadership. The Churches also convey condolences to all humanity which is suffering from extremism, bigotry and terrorism.
May God save a strong Jordan, protect its wise Hashemite leadership, and keep the Jordanian people and its valuable national unity.
