CCSM calls for sharing prayer with Pope Francis, Wednesday mid-day

Amman-en.abouna.org

Pope Francis has called on all Christians throughout the world to join in praying the "Our Father" on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at noon which also marks the Feast of the Annunciation.

He made the appeal after praying the noonday Angelus on March 22, broadcast from Apostolic Library in the Vatican.

The Pope also announced that on the following Friday, March 27, he will preside over a moment of prayer on the sagrato of St Peter’s Basilica, the platform at the top of the steps immediately in front of the façade of the Church.

“I invite everyone to participate spiritually through the means of communication”, he said.

On the other hand, the Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM) in Jordan invites all Churches to participate in this prayer, namely "Our Father", which Lord Jesus Christ taught us, at 12:00 midday Rome local time and 1:00pm Jordan time.

The CCSM calls for ringing the bells after reciting the Angelus prayer and "Our Father" prayer as a sign of unity with the Ecumenical Church and of support for the entire humanity, which prays unanimously seeking God's elimination of this epidemic and His mercy on all the deceased.

CCSM Director Fr. Dr. Rif'at Bader pointed out that His Holiness Pope Francis' call for prayer is intended to have the world unanimously implore the Almighty God to eliminate the pain inflicting many countries worldwide and the extended human family.

He pointed out that Pope Francis was also dedicated Friday, March 27, to a prayer at the sagrato of St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican to give the traditional blessing that he usually bestows on Christmas and Easter at the St. Peter's Square which is this year free from the faithful and pilgrims. The Pope will offer forgiveness to the people of the world which is called Urbi et Orbi, namely the blessing of "the city of Rome and the world at large".

Following is the Lord's Prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
