A celebration has been held at Our Lady of Lourdes grotto in Naour, south of Amman, marking the 101st anniversary of the apparitions of Blessed Virgin Mary in Fatima, Portugal.
A Mass was celebrated by parish priest Fr. Rif’at Bader which was followed by a candle-lit tour, in cooperation with members of the Roman Catholic Lady of the Galilee Fraternity in Nazareth.
In his homily, Fr. Bader talked about the Feast of Pentecost and called for praying for journalists on the World Communications Day which falls on the Sunday preceding Pentecost. Prayers were also said for the victims of the terrorist attack in the churches of Indonesia, which claimed the lives of a number of lives.
At the end of the Mass, Ms. Fayrouz Rashed made an address on behalf of the visiting delegation. She expressed pleasure that a celebration is held at Our Lady of Lourdes’ grotto to mark the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima.
