In his homily, Patriarch Twal underlined the role of youth in the preservation of environment and attainment of peace. He added that the youth meet today to discuss means to preserve their common home. He also thanked all those who contributed to the preparation of the conference, including members of the Secretariat of Christian Youth and the volunteers, in order to ensure its success.

The conference, represented by 20 countries worldwide and to last on October 10, will focus on peace, education, shared living among all components of society, and the environment. It will also focus, in particular, on the role of education in the attainment of peace, conflict resolution, environmental preservation, and shared living from a religious point of view, pluralism and the preservation of environment.

The conference includes field visits aimed at acquainting the participating delegations on Jordan’s expertise in preserving the environment, as well as in the distinguished shared life among all its components and the sublime plurality.
