Forcibly displaced Iraqis have made donations to renovate and uplift the hall at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Naour township, southwest of Amman, where they had stayed while they were in Jordan after they were forcibly displaced in the wake of the religious persecution practised against them by the terrorist ISIS organization.

In a message sent to parish priest of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Fr. Rif'at Bader, Mr. Jamil Elias Ashou says: "Your efforts are blessed as you have breathed life into our despair. You have revealed to everyone that you are a benevolent child of the Lord and of the compassionate Lady of Lourdes.

He also addressed the parishioners of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Naour expressing joy for the renovation of the hall where they spent beautiful days in their care and by Our Lady of Lourdes grotto. He also thanked Fr. Bader for having the hall renovated and for striving to support them. He concluded his message saying: "Praise Lord Jesus Christ who inspired us and taught us the real meaning of love for humanity."

The hall of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Naour, renamed "the Hall of the Lady of Lourdes", hosted dozens of forcibly displaced Iraqi families in the wake of the bloody events that took place in Iraq in 2016. At the time, the Catholic Church opened its doors of its monasteries for thousands of Iraqis who came to the Jordan in search for safety and security. Caritas Jordan also provided them with financial and moral support throughout their stay.
