On Monday, August 12, the Our Lady of the Holy Valley Choir, coming from Syria, held its second eve of hymns at the Church of St. Joseph in Ader, Karak Governorate, which coincides with two events, namely the 100th anniversary of the parish and the Franciscan march covering this year the Karak Governorate.
Parish priest Fr. Samer Madanat welcomed the choir coming from the diocese of Homs, accompanied by Bishop Elias Toumeh and Fr. Butros Hazouri. He pointed out that this evening coincides with the celebration marking the 100th anniversary of the parish. He also prayed for the Holy Trinity, "that brought us together in this evening in Holy Trinity's image."
A young girl, member of the Our Lady of the Holy Valley Choir, said, "In Jordan, Lord Jesus Christ set foot, was baptized in the River Jordan, and performed miracles. Many believed in Him. They preached His message in their cities and villages while being steadfast in faith. In Syria, the Lord appeared to Paul who in turn returned to preach the whole world about Jesus Christ's message of salvation. In Syria, the followers of Lord Jesus were the first to be called Christians. They preached and were steadfast in their faith. Consequently, the pilgrimage of Christians must include Syria and Jordan. "
She continued: "We, the Our Lady of the Holy Valley Choir, carried the message of peace, which is always the message of beloved Syria. We came to you with the peace of the people of Syria. Our voices are louder than the drums of war. At a time when we are in Jordan, the sounds of war fade away. We offered our voices to comfort the oppressed and to revere the souls of the deceased. We came to you with the smile of the pained after years of a long war, but we are unshakably steadfast. We came with message of peace from the people of Syria. We came to you the Valley of the Christians, from the land of love, common living and steadfastness presenting to our lyrics, melodies which we have been singling over the years. May our voices meet your hearts, and our message be heard all over the world.
The choir presented a number of oriental hymns and sings for Jordan.
The Our Lady of the Holy Valley Choir conveys messages of love, peace, and common living as well as disseminates the good news of Jesus Christ to people through heart-felt songs to the glory of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
