Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Fouad Twal has said that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip has become unbearable due to the escalating violence and the fall of innocent victims, including children and women who live in continuous horror and are deprived of sleep.
He added that he shares the views of His Holiness Pope Francis who had earlier telephoned Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas urging them to immediately cease fire, reminding them of the joint prayer that was held at the Vatican last month.
He added that the Latin Patriarchate School in Gaza is open to receive the families who lost their homes or forced to flee.
