By Munir Bayouk/ en.abouna.org :

On Thursday, August 11, 2022 Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop Jamal Daibes visited the Bible Society of Jordan (BSJ) and was welcomed by BSJ Director Munther Nemat and members of staff.

During the meeting, the discussions focused on the main activities of the BSJ as well as its activities in the Christian society and the Jordanian society in particular.

Bishop Daibes praised the distinguished efforts exerted by the BSJ and discussed means to promote cooperation and partnership between BSJ and the Catholic Church in all fields that would have a positive impact particularly with regards to serving the believers and the homeland.

The BSJ is a member of the World Bible Society which includes in its membership 154 societies operating in 242 countries around the world. It is mainly concerned with translating, printing, and distributing the Bible in various languages of the world.

The BSJ was established in Jordan in early 1970s and works on different levels with the goal of serving the Jordanian society through the distribution of books, and other services. In the Middle East, Christians urgently need Bibles to strengthen their faith and to allow people to have a life-changing encounter with Lord Jesus through the Bible. The Holy Bible is the river of life that flows from Lord Jesus in His capacity as the source of the river of life.
