Latin Patriarchate priests in Jordan held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 9, which was dedicated to discussing the academic and educational prospects of the Patriarchate’s educational institutions within the framework of the ongoing efforts to enhance academic excellence and to strengthen the Catholic identity in its various educational establishments.
At the outset of the meeting, Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop Iyad Twal reviewed the importance of the diocese’s educational mission and the future vision of the educational service.
The meeting featured presentations on current strategies, future action plans, and a vision aimed at improving the academic and administrative performance in line with the highest educational standards, while preserving the educational and humanitarian mission that distinguishes the institutions affiliated with the Latin Patriarchate.
The participants in the meeting also emphasized the importance of enhancing the Catholic identity within an educational environment by integrating the Gospel’s values into the educational process and nurturing generations that combine academic excellence with human and spiritual maturity, thus contributing to serving both the Church and society.
The meeting constituted an opportunity for dialogue and exchange of ideas among priests and educators, which helped foster greater cooperation and integration among the Patriarchate’s various institutions, as well as affirms their ongoing commitment to provide quality education and an authentic educational mission that responds to the challenges at present and the aspirations of the future.
The participants in the meeting included Executive Director of the Latin Patriarchate Schools Ms. Carol Jad’on, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American University of Madaba (AUM) Eng. Azzam Shweihat, AUM President Dr. Adi Arida, and Ms. Mirath Smirat.
