The beatification of Carlo Acutis is a noble lesson in life

By Munir Bayouk/ en.abouna.org :

As a teenager, he died suffering from leukemia. The world lost a young computer programmer, yet the Kingdom of God welcomed a beatified person who set a model of a person living with love and offering Christian witness in daily.

He is Carlo Acutis whose beatification is on Saturday, October 10.

His Holiness Pope Francis said on Nov 19, 2014: "We are all called to be saints. But, we must remember that holiness is a gift from God - not something we can achieve on our own.  Holiness is not “granted only to those who have the opportunity to break away from the ordinary tasks, to devote themselves to prayer. Rather, everyone is called to holiness in their own state of life. Indeed, it is by living with love and offering Christian witness in our daily tasks that we are called to become saints."

With "everyone is called to holiness in one's own state of life", Carlo Acutis followed his own way leading to beatification.

He used the savings from his weekly pocket money to help the beggars and those who slept outdoors by buying them sleeping bags and bringing them hot drinks. He also organized fairs in the parish to help the missions with the funds raised.

From a young age, Carlo had a special love for Lord Jesus Christ and he loved to pray the rosary. After he made his First Communion, he went to Mass as often as he could, and he made Holy Hours before or after Mass.

On his cause for sainthood, he managed to drag his relatives, his parents to Mass every day. On his website, he told people that the more often we receive the Eucharist, the more we will become like Jesus, so that on this earth we will have a foretaste of heaven.

When he was diagnosed with leukemia, he offered his sufferings for Pope Benedict XVI and for the Church, saying: “I offer all the suffering I will have to suffer for the Lord, for the pope, and the Church.”

HIS BODY WAS INCORRUPT

There are reports that the body of Carlo Acutis was found to be incorrupt. The entire body was present when it was exhumed, but incorrupt.

He will lie in repose in a glass tomb where he can be venerated by pilgrims until October 17. He is displayed in jeans and a pair of Nikes, the casual clothes he preferred in life. His heart, which can now be considered a relic, will be displayed in a reliquary in the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi.

The beatification of Carlo Acutis is a source of pride, for as a youngster he realized that walking hand-in-hand with Lord Jesus Christ is the ultimate objective of people who seek salvation. His mother Antonia Salzano realizes that her beatified son is now in the company of  Blessed Mary who cares for all Her children,  as She does for Carlo.

Being with the Blessed Mother of the Lord is ultimate objective of all the faithful.
