A unique celebration of faith, history and culture will take place in Perth from July 24 to 26 as St Joseph Syro-Malabar Parish in Orange Grove.

The exhibition aims to provide younger generations growing up in Australia with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of their ancestral faith traditions, history and identity while fostering a greater appreciation of the Church’s enduring heritage.

The exhibition will be officially inaugurated on July 24 by Bishop Mar John Panamthottathil, Eparch of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Eparchy of Melbourne. 

Organizers say the exhibition reflects a collective effort to preserve and pass on the treasured traditions of one of the world’s oldest Christian communities.

The central theme of the exhibition is the Church’s journey of faith, tracing its roots from the apostolic mission of St. Thomas the Apostle to the present day. 

Through an extensive display of historical documents, sacred relics, antiquities, photographs and liturgical artefacts, visitors will be taken on a journey through centuries of Christian faith and tradition. 

The exhibition seeks to highlight how the Church’s spiritual heritage has been faithfully preserved and handed down across generations.

A special section dedicated to the migration history of the Syro-Malabar community in Australia will highlight the sacrifices, achievements and faith journey of migrant families who helped establish thriving parish communities across the country.
