Bahrain National Museum hosts exhibition documenting HH Pope's historic Bahrain visit

The Bahrain National Museum is hosting a special exhibition documenting the historic visit of His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Vatican, to the Kingdom at the invitation of His Majesty King Hamad Ibn Isa Al Khalifa.

The exhibition features words, pictures and collectibles that remind the visitors of the meetings that took place during the papal visit, reflecting the exceptional value of this historical event.

The expo contains elements and collectibles that cover all aspects of the Pontiff's visit to the kingdom and its regional and global importance, as it sheds light on the "Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence", which was held with the participation of His Holiness Pope Francis and His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders.

The exhibition documented the meetings of His Holiness the Pope with the Christian community in Bahrain and the region, including the meeting at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia, the historical Mass held by HH Pope Francis at the Bahrain National Stadium, in the presence of 30,000 people, and HH's meeting with a group of young people at the Sacred Heart School in Manama.

The exhibition devoted a section to the dimensions of the papal visit, as Pope Francis was the first pontiff to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain, carrying a message of peace, dialogue and coexistence among religions, dedicating what has been said about the legends in the land of Bahrain, the "pure and sacred" land of Dilmun, and establishing the importance of the endeavors of the kingdom, under the leadership of HM King Hamad, in adopting dialogue, rapprochement and peace as principles that embody the vision of the country and its constitution that respects the other.

The exhibition displays the chair on which His Holiness Pope Francis sat during his participation in the closing session of the "Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence".

The exhibition also includes the wooden platform in front of which His Holiness Pope Francis spoke during his visit, as well as the car (Fiat 500) in which His Holiness travelled while in Bahrain.
