The AFAQ Project, implemented by Bethlehem University’s Institute for Community Partnership (ICP) with generous funding from the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, continued to expand digital skills development opportunities across local parishes throughout October 2026, with three training initiatives focused on artificial intelligence (AI), employability, and workplace efficiency.
The first initiative, “Practical AI for University Students & Enhancing Employability,” was delivered online from 6 to 27 October, reaching 22 university students from the parishes of Ramallah, Taybeh, Aboud, Jifna, Birzeit, Ein Areek, Jenin, Zababdeh, and Rafydia. The training aimed to equip participants with practical AI skills that can support their academic development and strengthen their readiness for the job market.
A face-to-face edition of the same training program concluded on October 16, with certificates awarded to 24 third- and fourth-year university students from the parishes of Bethlehem, Beit Jala, and Beit Sahour, including 20 students from Bethlehem University. The program provided participants with opportunities to develop their understanding and practical use of AI tools in ways that support their future professional careers.
Building on these initiatives, the AFAQ Project launched “AI Training for Workplace Efficiency” on October 19. Running until November 9, the program brings together 21 employed men and women from the parishes of Bethlehem, Beit Jala, and Beit Sahour, focusing on the practical application of AI tools to improve productivity and support everyday workplace responsibilities.
Together, these three initiatives reflect the AFAQ Project’s commitment to expanding access to digital skills, promoting economic empowerment, and strengthening employability among university students and working professionals. By equipping participants with practical knowledge of emerging technologies, Bethlehem University continues to support individuals and communities in adapting to the changing demands of today’s job market.
