Following is the call to prayer for His Holiness Pope Francis by His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, dated February 19, 2025:
To the faithful of the Diocese of Jerusalem, Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, May the peace and grace of the Lord be with you!
At this time, we come together as one family in faith, united in a heartfelt appeal to lift our prayers to Almighty God for the health and well-being of His Holiness Pope Francis, the Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church. As he faces health challenges, we entrust him to the Lord’s loving care, asking for strength, healing, and a swift recovery.
As one spiritual family, we are called to stand together, united in prayer and supplication, asking the Lord, the Physician of both bodies and souls, to grant His Holiness health, and strength.
Let us fervently offer our prayers during Mass, in our homes, and in the silence of our hearts, imploring the Lord to sustain Pope Francis with renewed health and strength, so that he may continue his sacred mission of guiding the Church with wisdom, humility, and love.
Prayer for His Holiness Pope Francis
O merciful Father, You have called Your servant Pope Francis to shepherd Your Church with faith and love. In his time of need, we turn to You, the Divine Physician, and humbly ask that You extend Your healing hand upon him. Grant him strength in body, mind, and spirit, so that he may continue to lead Your people with steadfast devotion.
Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, we place him under Your loving care, trusting in Your divine will. We ask this in the name of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.
May our united prayers be a sign of our love and fidelity to the Holy Father, knowing that the Lord, who hears the cries of His children, will answer our supplications in His mercy.
May my Apostolic Blessing be with you all, and may the Lord keep you always in His grace and peace.
