Cardinal Sako addresses "an appeal to beloved Iraqis"

saint-adday.com :

His Eminence Cardinal Louis Raphael Sako sends the following appeal to Iraqis:

Owing to a patriotic and conscientious affiliation, I address these words to you, stemming from my concern and love to our citizens and the homeland.

After all that we have been through, I see that the “political blockage” does not serve anyone, Therefore, politicians must return to the dialogue of the brave, by adopting rationality, calming, and not intensification. Iraq is entrusted to you.

Winners have the right to rejoice, but they do not have the right to “break” the losers, this is not the knights’ character.  Whoever feels of “unfairness” should claim justice and judiciary, rather than using weapons.

Keeping in mind that ignoring civil peace, national unity and safety of citizens is a major sin.

Winning and losing are life’s norm. Since four years later, new election comes.  Let us learn the lesson, hoping that politicians understand that the reluctance of the majority of citizens to vote expresses their disappointment.

In these difficult days, I invite everyone to pray, may God have mercy on Iraq, and “clear” the storm.
