Patriarch of Babylon of the Chaldeans His Beatitude Cardinal Louis Raphaël Sako arrived in Amman on Thursday, June 30, on a pastoral visit designed to lay the foundation stone for the first Chaldean church in Jordan. He was accompanied by Bishop Mar Shlemon Warduni, auxiliary bishop of the Patriarchate of Babylon in Iraq, and Fr. Basman George Fattohi.

Upon arrival, Patriarch Sako and the accompanying delegation were received at the airport by Jordan's Director of the European Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Fayez Khoury, Iraq's Ambassador to Jordan HaidarAl-Athari, Charge d'Affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature in Amman Monsignor Mauro Lalli, Chaldean Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Fr. Zeid Habbabeh, and a delegation from the Chaldean parish council.
