Caritas Jordan launches winter season campaign
By Munir Bayouk/ en.abouna.org :

On December 2, 2024, the annual winter campaign was launched by Caritas Jordan in Salt under the patronage of the Governor of Balqa Salman Najada and in the presence of Apostolic Nuncio to Jordan Bishop Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso, and Director of Caritas Jordan Wael Suleiman. The event was organized by the Love and Compassion Project, represented by its director Mr. Michel Fashhou, and Caritas Jordan.

At the outset of the event, parish priest of the Latin Monastery in Salt Fr. Tariq Hijazin praised the role that has always been played by the Church in humanitarian work which focuses on the importance of common living, brotherhood, and love among different components of the society. He added that these values have always been the basis of the Church’s message which are designed to serve humanity, where the Church will always remain an active partner in social and charity work. He went on to say that Caritas Jordan practically embodies these values through its message to stand by those in need, as well as to provide necessary support to the individuals and the families most affected by the difficult economic conditions, especially in the harsh winter season.

In attendance were prominent Salt personalities who praised the importance of social solidarity and the continuous support presented to needy families in various parts of the Kingdom, particularly during the winter season that aggravates the suffering of low-income families.
