Caritas Middle East and North Africa (MONA) Joint Partners’ Meeting has kicked off in Amman, bringing together representatives from Caritas organizations and partners across the region. The meeting is being held from 21 to 23 September 2026.

During the opening session, His Excellency Bishop Iyad Twal, Latin Patriarchal Vicar in Jordan and Vice President of Caritas Jordan, delivered welcoming remarks in the presence of Monsignor Giorgio Bertin, President of Caritas MONA, and Mr. Thabet Al-War, President of the Board of Caritas Jordan. Bishop Twal welcomed the participants and expressed his wishes for a successful meeting that would further strengthen dialogue, cooperation, and partnership among Caritas organizations in the region.

During the meeting sessions, Mr. Omar Abawi, Acting Executive Director of Caritas Jordan, delivered a presentation on Caritas Jordan, highlighting the organization’s work, areas of intervention, programs, and its role in responding to humanitarian and development needs and serving the most vulnerable communities.

The meeting provides an opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss shared priorities, and strengthen frameworks for cooperation and partnership in support of Caritas’ mission and humanitarian service across the Middle East and North Africa.
