lpj.org :

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, Msgr. Iyad Twal, Latin Patriarchal Vicar in Jordan, presided over the Mass at the Latin Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Fuheis, to bless church after the recent restoration work done to the church building.

Concelebrating was Fr. Ibrahim Nino, the parish priest, along with Fr. Romen, the sisters of the parish, representatives of the various apostolic groups, and the faithful, who filled the church again with joyful hearts offering thanksgiving to God for this blessing.

At the beginning of the celebration, Msgr. Twal blessed the holy water and sprinkled it over the faithful and on the walls of the church, marking the return of liturgical life to the Church following the period of renovation and restoration.

“The renewal of the church is not only about the stone, but also an invitation to the faithful to renew their hearts and faith”, said Msgr. Twal in his homily, while he reflected on the meaning of renewal from a spiritual and physical aspect. He called on the faithful to be “a living active Church, pulsing with love and the presence of God, becoming a dwelling place for God, and his presence can be visible in each person’s life."

His Excellency expressed his great joy in sharing this special moment with the parish, saying: "I am delighted to be with you today to celebrate the fruit of the blessed efforts you have undertaken to renovate the house of God. This church is not merely a beautiful structure of stone and decoration, but a testimony of your faith and a sign of your love for the Church."

He also extended words of appreciation and gratitude to all who contributed to the restoration project, including the parishioners, benefactors, and the working committees, acknowledging their cooperation and dedication in serving the Church and the wider community.

At the conclusion of the Mass, a message from His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, was read, in which he expressed his appreciation and joy for the zeal, unity, and unwavering dedication of the parishioners toward their church and community.

This blessed celebration affirms that the parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary sees the church not merely as a building, but as a home that gathers the faithful around one altar, where heaven and earth meet in every Mass, prayer, and act of mutual love.
