Commemorating Easter celebrations, the Good Shepherd Church of St. Marys in Yonkers, the United States, has arranged an annual sale of Easter sweets. The proceeds from the sale will go to Beit Jala seminarians as an expression of love and solidarity.
The parishioners' central way of raising money is also done through a bake sale held at the parish every Sunday. The parishioners pitch in by baking all kinds of treats, especially kaek, an Arabic pastry, then offering it up for the bake sale.
The Beit Jala seminarians paid tribute and appreciation to the Good Shepherd Church of St. Marys for this gesture that reflects the noble teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ represented in love for brothers and exerting utmost efforts to help the needy. They also stressed that this parish is very dear to them as it has been supporting them for many years. They also expressed gratitude for this stand praying that Almighty will overwhelm the parish with His blesses.
