The Assembly of Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land issued the following statement dated October 29, 2022 condemning an attack that has taken place on the "Fathers and Grandfathers Church" in Beit Sahour, the Holy Land. Following is the text of the statement:

"A group of men attacked, especially by stone-throwing, last night the Greek Orthodox Church of the "Fathers and Grandfathers" in Beit Sahour (to east of Bethlehem) following a brawl among some young men.

"We condemn this attack and demand the Palestinian Authority to bring attackers to justice as soon as possible.

"On the other hand, we commend ALL those, from different faiths and families, who arrived at the site and did their best in attempt to protect the Church from the attackers.

"We do hope that no similar incidents will take place in the future and urge all to keep places of worship away of any dispute."
