Holy Land: Inauguration of the new building at the General Administration of Latin Patriarchate Schools

Under the patronage of Msgr. William Shomali, Patriarchal Vicar General, the new building at the General Administration of Latin Patriarchate Schools was officially inaugurated in Ramallah, in the presence of a distinguished delegation from the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher – Germany.

 

The ceremony opened with a warm welcome by Father Yacoub Rafidi, General Director, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Germany for their generous contribution. He emphasized that the new facility represents a strategic milestone in the development of the educational environment, aiming to enrich students' learning experiences, empower teachers, and enhance the effectiveness of educational leadership. Father Rafidi also acknowledged the efforts of the Latin Patriarchate’s General Administration and its departments in overseeing the successful implementation of the project, with special thanks extended to Engineer Hussam Khoury, the construction supervisor.

 

In his remarks, Msgr. Shomali conveyed his profound joy at this educational achievement, expressing deep appreciation to the benefactors and supporters. He praised the school administration for its unwavering commitment to the educational mission of the Patriarchate and its dedication to advancing its vision.

 

Mr. Ferdinand Gies, representative of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher, addressed the attendees with words of pride and commitment, highlighting the Order’s continuous support for the Patriarchate’s educational and humanitarian projects. He underscored their honor in contributing to such a meaningful initiative.

 

The event included the screening of a documentary film outlining the stages of the building’s construction, followed by another video showcasing the impactful work of the Latin Patriarchate Schools. Msgr. Shomali then blessed the new building and unveiled the commemorative plaque, officially marking the inauguration, amid applause and admiration from the audience.

 

The new facility is designed to provide integrated services that support the schools administratively and operationally. It includes dedicated office spaces for staff, two fully equipped halls for meetings, workshops, training sessions, and various educational gatherings. The building also features a spacious outdoor area offering a welcoming space for relaxation and informal interaction during breaks.

 

The inauguration was attended by a number of esteemed guests, including Msgr. William Shomali, the German delegation of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher, parish priests from Ramallah, members of religious orders, Mr. Sami El-Yousef, CEO of the Latin Patriarchate, a delegation from the Patriarchate’s General Administration, principals of the Latin Patriarchate Schools across Palestine, principals of private schools in Ramallah, and representatives from the Parish Council of the Holy Family Church – Ramallah.
