Holy Mass marking silver jubilee of consecration of Sawsan Qub'ain

On Sunday, September 19, 2021, Latin patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop William Shomali presided at a Holy Mass celebrated at the Martyrs of Jordan Church in  Marj Al-Hamam, Amman,  marking the silver jubilee (25 years) of the consecration of Sawsan Qub'ain.

 

The Holy Mass was concelebrated by  Bishop Salim Sayegh and parish priest Fr. Ashraf Nimri, a number of priest, deacons and acolytes. In attendance were nuns and a large number of people.

 

During the Holy Mass, Sawsan Qub'ain  renewed the vow of consecration and fidelity to the Lord Christ.She said the following prayer: "O venerable Father, relying on the grace of God, I declare before You, and in the presence of the group of believers that I make an eternal vow to God, and follow Jesus Christ alone for life. Amen."

 

In his homily, Bishop Shomali explained the significance of the consecrated life indicating that the consecrated do not live in monasteries but live a normal life and hold jobs, yet Lord Jesus holds a prime role in their lives. He added that consecrated chose Lord Jesus to be the invaluable treasure that is worth to do everything for in order to be maintained.
