The inauguration celebration of Radio Maria in the Diocese of Kabwe, Zambia, took place on 25 April 2026, and was a deeply meaningful moment of diocesan communion.
The event was attended by two bishops, numerous priests and religious sisters, along with a large number of faithful. The day unfolded in three main moments: the celebration of Holy Mass, the recitation of the Holy Rosary, which accompanied the faithful from the parish to the Radio Maria substation and finally the official blessing of the studios.
A particularly significant sign occurred at the end of Holy Mass, immediately after Communion, when a fundraising collection was organized to support the new radio station in the Diocese of Kabwe. The two bishops and the priests present opened the collection with their offerings, followed by almost all the faithful, who took part by bringing their envelopes with donations.
It was moving to see how the community of Kabwe, in a predominantly rural diocese characterized by poverty, immediately understood the importance of supporting Radio Maria, recognizing it as a work that is possible thanks to the generosity of . Thus, Radio Maria is born in Kabwe as a new creation taking its first steps, sustained by the love and faith of the people. May Our Lady bless all the generous hands that made this beginning possible!
