On July 18, 2024, Apostolic Nuncio Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso forwarded humanitarian aid, which included medicines and medical equipment to the Jordan Hashemite Charity  Organization (JHCO), represented by its Secretary General Dr. Hussein Al-Shibli, in the presence of the Caritas Jordan Director Mr. Wael Suleiman.

This aid is in compliance with the announcement made by Holy See Secretary for Relations with States Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher during his visit to the JHCO's warehouses last March, that His Holiness Pope Francis would make a donation to help the people of Gaza through Caritas Jordan. It is also a confirmation of the commitment of the Catholic Church and Caritas Jordan to continue to provide support to the people in the Gaza Strip, at a time when they face challenges caused by war, as they urgently need to receive various kinds of assistance including food, water, medicines, and basic commodities.

This measure underlines the unwavering mission and role of Caritas Jordan, which has been playing a key role over the past 35 years in supporting the poor and the needy, as well as in helping refugees, victims of wars and disasters in coordination with several partners.
