CCSM Director Fr. Dr. Rif’at Bader and members of staff welcomed the guest delegation, presided by Director of Danube Institute Dr. Jeffrey Kaplan, during which Fr. Bader gave an in-depth review of the current matters.
Fr. Rif’at praised the role played by Hungary in providing scholarships for higher education to Jordanian students, noting that these scholarships are considered an advantage for Jordan, which represents an oasis of stability in the region as it has received many forcibly displaced people from neighboring countries, and stressed that Jordan is proud of the prevailing and distinctive national unity among the spectrum of its society.
He also presented a briefing of the circumstances leading the establishment of the CCSM in 2012, pointing to its role in spreading harmony, love and dialogue through its English- and Arabic-language websites, in addition to publishing news related to the Christian world which calls for spreading peace and stopping wars.
He also expressed pride in the prevailing national unity among the various segments of Jordanian society, and added that the Catholic Church in Jordan acts within this framework by spreading the spirit of tolerance and love through its various schools in addition to the American University in Madaba. Later, a comprehensive dialogue took place that covered various current affairs in the region.
