On Sunday, August 2, 2026 Sister Razan Baqa’in and Sister Maria Ghawi, of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (Salesian Sisters), professed their perpetual vows, and consecrated their lives to God in the service of the Church and young people. They committed themselves to living the three evangelical counsels, namely poverty, chastity, and obedience during a solemn Mass celebrated at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Amman by Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop Iyad Twal in the presence of the nuns of the congregation, their families, and a large gathering of the faithful.

In his homily, Bishop Twal emphasized that religious vocations are the fruit of God's love. He reflected on the concept of the "marvelous exchange" that is manifested in the mystery of the Incarnation, where God in the richness of His love became human so that humanity might share in His grace and Divine life. He pointed out that that every Christian vocation starts with discovering the presence of Christ, the Savior, in one's life, adding that Sister Razan and Sister Maria responded to this call through total consecration, so that their consecration becomes a grace for both the Church and the world.
