Following the inauguration of the new Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) office in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Christoforos Atallah, the Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Jordan, and President of the Council of Heads of Churches in Jordan, the new Director of the office Father Ignatius Khalifeh visited Lebanon to follow up on the necessary administrative issues with the MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs. 

Therefore, a coordination meeting was held on Monday 10 June 2024, at the MECC headquarters in Beirut, in the presence of the MECC Associate Secretary General Reverend Rif'at Fikry, the MECC Associate Secretary General Mrs. Seta Hadeshian, and the MECC General Secretariat’s team. 

During the meeting, the attendees discussed ways to activate the role of the Middle East Council of Churches office in Jordan in order to serve the Jordanian society and enhance the interaction between Churches as well as the components of the Jordanian society, in addition to developing dialogue and work among them. They also discussed how to launch projects and programs in Jordan at various ecumenical, Theological, humanitarian, and media levels in order to serve people through bearing witness to Christ and achieve the desired goals. 

Moreover, the attendees agreed to continue cooperation in future meetings, on the one hand, and on the other hand, to continue coordination in order to intensify the work and develop the role of the Middle East Council of Churches in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
