mecc.org :

The Theological and Ecumenical Department at the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) continues its "Youth Leadership Building" program in Lebanon. It organized a new Ecumenical youth day, the last before the summer camp, which will culminate the program with the graduation of participants representing various Church Families.

Noting that this program is implemented in partnership with Youth for Christ (YFC), Kerk in Actie (KIA), Ithraa Center in Lebanon, the Bible Society in Lebanon and the World Student Christian Federation.

The youth day was held at the Theopolis Center in Lebanon and began with icebreakers activities to strengthen fraternal bonds between the participants. It also included two interactive sessions with Mr. Maher Al Jamal who came all the way from Qatar specifically to accompany and support the youth.

These two sessions focused on Psalm 3:1, reflecting on its implications and its impact on our lives today, while emphasizing the importance of strengthening and developing spiritual maturity. In this context, Al Jamal unpacked the “4 P’s” of a mature Christian: planted, productive, persistent, and prosperous. He cautioned the trainees against the trap of comparison, encouraging them instead to focus on the unique fruit God is cultivating in each of their lives. He closed by emphasizing the importance of navigating life with both truth and God's abundant graces.

Then, the youth gathered around a lunch they had prepared together, ending the day in an atmosphere of fraternity, friendship, and fun.

The day was marked by interaction among the participants, who shared enjoyable moments and new memories through learning, communicating, playing, singing, and music… They expressed their joy at meeting together and the importance of this program in developing their leadership skills.
