Cardinal Arlindo Gomes Furtado presided at the blessing ceremony of the Radio Maria studios in Cape Verde on  August 15, 2023. Afterwards, a procession with the statue of Our Lady was led through the streets of the city of Praia (the country’s capital).

 The people of Cape Verde expressed their immense joy. Catholics in this country represent approximately 93 per cent of the population. It is therefore very likely that they are all Radio Maria listeners, given that it is the only Catholic radio station on the island. Luckily, everywhere in the country people are able to listen to Radio Maria.

The word “gratitude” was uttered many times by Cardinal Arlindo Gomes Furtado as he thanked all donors. May Our Lady bless all the generous hands that are carrying out the Radio Maria project in every part of the world!
