The international Interfaith Dialogue Congress "Wisdom Across Traditions" has been organized by the Interfaith and Ecumenical Dialogue Office of the Vicariate, along with the Oasis Foundation and St. Francis Church at the Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi.
It was an opportunity to listen to distinguished scholars and learn how wisdom is a legacy from the past and a guarantee for the future, examining the concept of wisdom from the perspective of the three Abrahamic religions.
According to Bishop Paolo Martinelli, "the theme of wisdom in different traditions allows us to discover the profound connection between faith and daily life, the profoundly human relevance of the relationship with God."
Subsequently, the intention was to investigate the potential of wisdom to address the common challenge of artificial intelligence, following the call of the Human Fraternity document which emphasizes the importance of maintaining religious differences while collectively addressing contemporary challenges from a faith-based perspective.
This event is "part of the commitment of the Apostolic Vicariate to promote encounter and dialogue between people who belong to different faiths", Bishop Paolo stated.
It was the occasion for OASIS Foundation to celebrate 20 years of promoting dialogue between religions, in particular between Christianity and Islam. Bp Paolo stressed that "the intuition of Cardinal Scola that gave life to Oasis Foundation is more relevant today than at its beginning. Given the profound mixing of peoples due to migratory movements throughout the world, it is a question of promoting through the method of testimony the encounter between Christianity and Islam, to build up a good life for all."
