Marinella Bandini/ avosa.org :

As part of the celebrations marking the 800th anniversary of the Transitus of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Paul’s Parish in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi, organized two special events bringing together the community in prayer, music, and fraternity.

The life and final moments of St. Francis were brought to the stage through a moving dramatization of his Transitus, performed with devotion by parishioners. The presentation was directed by Fr. Augustine, with the guidance and support of Fr. Maxim, Parish Priest, and was attended by many faithful.

On this occasion, Fr. Michael Fernandes, Custos of the Capuchin Custody of Arabia, presided over Holy Mass and offered a reflection on the meaning of the Transitus, the passage of St. Francis from this world to heaven.

The parish also celebrated the Franciscan Jubilee with a concert featuring nine choirs. The friars joined the program by singing a hymn dedicated to the Little Poverello, adding their voices to this joyful celebration.

Through theatre and music, the parish community honored the legacy of St. Francis and shared a meaningful experience of faith and fraternity, in the spirit of the Extraordinary Franciscan Jubilee.
