Msgr. William Shomali, Patriarchal General Vicar, has addressed the effect of war and ceasefire conditions on Christians in the Holy Land during a special presentation in London. The event, organized by Friends of the Holy Land, took place on Monday, March 31, at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church.

During his talk, Msgr. Shomali provided firsthand insight into how the ongoing conflict has affected daily life in Jerusalem and Palestine, particularly within the Christian community. He also discussed the role of Christian-Related Organizations (CROs), including the Latin Patriarchate and Friends of the Holy Land, in fostering hope for peace and economic recovery, through their ongoing projects.

Drawing from his extensive experience of pastoral care in the region, he highlighted the crucial contributions of Christian institutions in education, healthcare, and social development. Their efforts continue to provide essential services to hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, preserving the Christian identity, witness, and culture in a challenging environment.

The event offered a compelling discussion on both the difficulties faced by Christians in the Holy Land and the initiatives bringing hope and resilience to the community.
