Vatican issues series of postage stamps for the Sede Vacante 2025

On Monday 28 April the Vatican City’s Postal and Philately Service of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems, released the series of postage stamps commemorating the Sede Vacante MMXXV, valid for postal correspondence mailed from the Vatican City.

 

The philatelic series consists of four face values: € 1.25 - € 1.30 - € 2.45 - € 3.20.

 

The four stamps depict the Allegory of the Apostolic See supported by angels under which figure the crossed keys. The stamps ​​feature the words: “Sede Vacante MMXXV”, “Città del Vaticano” and its  respective value in Euro.

 

The new stamps will be on sale for postal use as of Monday 28 April at the Post Office kiosk in St. Peter’s Square and at all public Vatican City Post offices.

 

In addition to the stamps, a special folder will be produced where all four values ​​are presented, accompanied by the official souvenir envelopes and the cancellation especially created for the Sede Vacante 2025. The folder will be available for purchase as of Friday, May 2.
