Between March 2013 and March 2025

Fr. Dr. Rif'at Bader :

In March 2013, Pope Francis walked as such (as seen in the included photo) wearing white clothing for the first time, among his brethren cardinals who contributed to releasing white smoke, a sign of the new papacy becoming marked with Francis’ fingerprints, with such new fingerprints that he was able to unveil with some of them being surprising to many people. Yet, Francis neither violated nor retreated from preserving the valid tradition of the Church. The Church proceeded with him hand-in-hand (in Greek the  word is Synod), while relying on “the hope that does not disappoint” which is the slogan that the first Pope who is from outside the European continent wanted as a slogan for the Church in the continuous pilgrimage through the Great Jubilee Year 2025.

Between March 2013 and March 2025, and through numerous apostolic journeys, synods, and multiple appointments of new cardinals, His Holiness Pope Francis spends most of his day in prayer on the 10th floor of the Gemelli Hospital, which has become a pilgrimage site for the hearts of millions of people who pray for the speedy recovery of the good Pope and the safe return to his Sunday emergence, the Angelus prayer, and the Lenten season which he also launched from the hospital with the theme “Let us journey together in hope”.

The prayers of the Holy Rosary are offered on daily bases for the speedy recovery  of the Pope who remarked in December 2020 as the coronavirus pandemic intensified its attacks on humanity, and recited the Angelus prayer from the library, saying: "It is a bit strange this Angelus prayer today, with the Pope 'caged' in the Library, but I see you, I am close to you," He prayed movingly alone on March 25, while walking in the rain for the healing of the world saying, ”We have an anchor: by his cross we have been saved. We have a rudder: by his cross we have been redeemed. We have a hope: by his cross we have been healed and embraced so that nothing and no one can separate us from his redeeming love.”

Today, March 2025, the same Pope, is caged in the hospital. He watches television while the rain falls on St. Peter's Square, and the prayers are offered for his recovery from all over the world and in different churches and languages. He  hears all these prayers which state,  “O Merciful God, Who wanted Francis to be the Pontiff in March, make us rejoice in his recovery in March this year, for it is the month of Saint Joseph and his "fatherly heart" that had the first papal decision to include in the Missal. It is the month of the Annunciation of Blessed Mary marked on March 25. Thus, send your holy angel to proclaim the recovery of the Holy Father, so that he would return smiling, teaching, and praying for the recovery of humanity from the wars that undoubtedly bleed his heart and conscience daily.

While the prayers of the faithful are offered daily to strengthen and support him, he said earlier in a message sent from the hospital as well ,"I feel all your affection and closeness, and at this particular time, I feel as if I am ‘carried’ and supported by all God’s people. Thank you all!"

May the Blessed Mother, Saint Joseph and the intercession of young Blessed Carlo Acutis, ( who will be canonized on April 27on the same day that Pope John Paul II was canonized in 2014, and who visited us in March 2000) enable us to celebrate  this month and this year, the silver jubilee of his visit to us.
