Jordan lights its candle marking the 76th independence day

Last year, we lit the candle marking the 100th anniversary of our beloved homeland in the modern time, which is the era of founding, construction, and enhancement while joining the developed, advanced and democratic countries. It is Jordan, whose honorable name is associated with the purest river and the holiest soil in human history. Of these  hundred years, holy Jordan lights its 76th candle marking its independence and freedom, as well as the source of its unlimited benevolence. We are all proud of the wise management that God Almighty has bestowed on this country, on its ship that is moving at a steady pace, as well as on the  legitimate and firm sails that proceed towards the port of safety.

The Jordanian ship may be exposed to violent storms from various directions, but the skilled captain is the one who steers it with wisdom, as well as with the  spirit of honesty and high responsibility so that the country would remain a model in the cohesion of people and in close contact with their leadership. The past years were definitely not easy for our dear country, as sometimes some attempts emerge designed to shake confidence and to erect walls instead of building bridges.

Here comes the test for nobility, virtue, as well as the historic and national assessment. So long that Jordan has achieved such global appreciation, it has remained and will remain so all the time as a model country of the connection between the people with their Hashemite leadership, as well as with the firm national unity which is the dearest thing we have in this beloved homeland. I plead with the Almighty God, while marking this glorious independence anniversary, to preserve the homeland with its holy water and soil, the landmark of dialogue and harmony, to safeguard the brotherhood prevailing between Christians and Muslims, to maintain the rock of national unity on which the disasters of time are shattered, and to protect His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, his Crown Prince Al-Hussein Ibn Abdullah II--who is embarking on the path of progress, creativity and leadership--the Hashemite family, and the extended Jordanian family in the ship that defies all hurricanes while it is  steadily moving towards the port of tranquility and peace.
