Radio Maria Malawi has celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Radio Maria is among the top four most listened to radio stations nationwide in Malawi. It is highly regarded, and it is also listened to by Muslims, since it is a radio of peace and human promotion and its greatest strength is also being a radio of prayer and evangelization.
The joy of the people of Malawi is shared by the Catholic Church. Radio Maria is actually the only national Catholic radio station. Marking the anniversary, Holy Mass was celebrated by the Archbishop of Lilongwe, Monsignor George Desmond Tambala. Also present was Monsignor Monfort Stima, Bishop of the Diocese of Mangochi, where the radio’s headquarters are located.
May Our Lady bless the generous hands of Radio Maria Italia listeners who made it possible to establish Radio Maria in Malawi, which is one of the poorest countries in the world but where Radio Maria is like a flower.
