On August 4, 2025, the American University of Madaba (AUM) and Samsung Levant signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU), marking the beginning of a long-term collaboration aimed at transforming the educational experience through cutting-edge technology, research development, and student empowerment.

The memorandum was signed at the AUM campus in Madaba by President of AUM Professor Mamoun Akroush and  President of Samsung Levant Mr. John Kang with representatives from both institutions attending the signing ceremony.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to integrating innovative technologies into higher education while advancing sustainable practices and preparing students for the demands of the digital economy. The ceremony also served as a platform to explore potential areas of collaboration, including student intern programs, academic support, innovative campus initiatives, and joint projects aligned with Samsung’s global leadership in artificial intelligence, information technology, and sustainability.

In his remarks, Professor Mamoun Akroush expressed his enthusiasm about the strategic alignment between the university and one of the world’s leading technology companies. “We are proud to enter into this partnership with Samsung, a company that represents the forefront of global innovation. This collaboration reflects our mission to deliver a transformative academic experience at the university to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and technological fluency required in today’s competitive landscape,” Professor Mamoun shared.

Samsung Levant’s President, Mr. John Kang, echoed the sentiment, stating, “Samsung is committed to empowering youth through innovation and education.” Mr. Mutaz Aqrabawi, Head of the Mobile Division at Samsung Levant, emphasized the company’s intention to establish a meaningful and long-term partnership with the university, highlighting their shared vision of investing in the next generation of innovators in Jordan and across the region.

Through this collaboration, AUM students gain access to Samsung’s global expertise in technology and innovation. AUM offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs that integrate artificial intelligence and emerging technologies into the curriculum, preparing students to lead in a rapidly evolving digital world. This partnership reinforces AUM’s mission to provide its students with experiential learning opportunities and further solidifies its role as a regional hub for innovation, creativity, and industry collaboration.
