On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, Archbishop Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso presented his credentials to President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides as apostolic nuncio of the Holy See accredited to Cyprus, in addition to serving as resident apostolic nuncio to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

It is worthy to note that Nicosia, the Capital of Cyprus, will host on 20-23 April a special Symposium titled, “The Church of the Middle East: An Unshakable Hope”, organized by the Dicastery of the Oriental Churches , to mark the 10th anniversary of Pope Benedict XVI's Encyclical, “The Church in the Middle East.” Catholic Patriarchs of the East and their representatives will take part in this Symposium.
