On Thursday, 25 September 2025, Bethlehem University’s Zbierski Library hosted a special Book Donation Ceremony to honor the generous contribution of books from the Representative Office of the Republic of Korea to Palestine.
The delegation, led by Mr. Youngkul Koh, Head of Mission, was accompanied by Mr. Jihwan Hwang, Administrator in Consular Affairs. They were welcomed on campus by Brother Hernán Santos, Vice Chancellor of Bethlehem University, and Brother Jack Curran, Vice President for Advancement.
The visit began with a meeting between the Vice Chancellor and the Korean delegation, where both parties exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between Bethlehem University and the Republic of Korea.
Following the meeting, the Book Donation Ceremony was held at the Zbierski Library. Symbolically exchanging one of the donated books, Brother Hernán and Mr. Koh marked the beginning of what both parties hope will be an ongoing initiative to support learning and academic development at Bethlehem University.
Ms. Elizabeth Dsouza, Director of the Library, expressed gratitude on behalf of the University community: “This valuable donation will provide lasting benefits to our students and faculty, strengthening our mission of knowledge, learning, and service.”
The donated collection will soon be available on the library shelves, enriching the resources accessible to both students and faculty.
Bethlehem University deeply appreciates the generosity of the Representative Office of the Republic of Korea and looks forward to continued cooperation in the years to come.
