Bethlehem University and SOS Children’s Villages Palestine have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at providing financial support to university students, enabling them to continue their academic journey and access quality, sustainable education.
The signing ceremony took place at Bethlehem University, where Dr. Fadi Kattan, Executive Vice President of Bethlehem University, and Ms. Ghada Herzallah, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Palestine, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
Dr. Kattan emphasized the importance of this partnership, which aligns with Bethlehem University’s mission to empower Palestinian youth through education. He praised the vital role that SOS Children’s Villages plays in caring for children and young people across Palestine, providing them with a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.
In her remarks, Ms. Herzallah highlighted that this collaboration reflects SOS Children’s Villages Palestine’s ongoing commitment to working hand in hand with Palestinian institutions to advance education, protection, and empowerment for children and youth.
Both parties agreed that this cooperation carries even greater significance in light of the challenging circumstances facing Palestinian society today. They stressed the need to strengthen partnerships and expand support networks for students and families.
Discussions also included potential future collaboration between the two institutions, particularly with Bethlehem University’s Business Incubator and the Yunus Social Business Center, to foster innovation and sustainable community development initiatives.
This partnership represents a shared commitment to investing in education as a pathway to hope, opportunity, and long-term empowerment for the next generation of Palestinians.
