Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop Iyad Twal, has marked the reopening of the Latin Monastery Hall in the town of Al-Wahadneh after the completion of restoration work following a fire that broke out in July 2025 due to an electrical short circuit.
He celebrated Holy Mass at Mar Elias Church which was concelebrated by parish priest Fr. Salam Haddad, and a number of priests, in the presence of parishioners and Rosary sisters. After the Holy Mass, the bishop, proceeded to the Latin Monastery Hall, which has resumed its activities after having been refurbished.
In his remark, Bishop Twal commended all the efforts that contributed to the restoration of the hall, stressing that what has been fulfilled is the outcome of cooperation, love, and a true spirit of service. He noted that all parishes receive the Patriarchate’s attention and care, stating that remote parishes sometimes require additional support due to being far from the services available in the capital. Adding that everyone works in the spirit of one family to serve the Church and Jordanian society, he praised the efforts of the Patriarchate’s staff and all those who contributed to the completion of the project and restoring the hall.
