Bishop Twal extends well-wishes to Fr. Yousef Francis for being bestowed Royal medal

The Latin Patriarchal Vicariate in Jordan has extended well-wishes to Fr. Yousef Francis on the occasion of being bestowed the King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the First Degree during Jordan’s celebrations of the 80th Independence Day, in recognition of his humanitarian, social, and volunteer work in caring for orphans as well as in serving the parish and the Shrine of Our Lady of the Mountain in Ajloun Governorate.

 

Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop Iyad Twal said: “This distinguished honoring is a well-deserved recognition of his sincere social service and his blessed efforts in caring for children. It stands as a living testimony to the Church’s mission in serving the parish and humanity, as well as an embodiment of the values of love and benevolence that are conveyed by the Gospel.”

 

Bishop Twal also expressed pride “that this humanitarian initiative has received appreciation at the highest levels, which reflects the vital role played by the servants of the Church in building society and enhancing human dignity.” He offered prayers “that the Lord may bless the life and ministry of Fr. Yousef Francis, as well as grant him further grace and strength to continue his mission in serving children and all those in need. Blessed be God in His faithful servants.”

 

It is worthy to note that His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday, 25 May 2026, bestowed Royal medals on Jordanian institutions and individuals on the occasion of Jordan’s 80th Independence Day, in recognition of their distinguished achievements and contributions to Jordan’s progress and modernization.

 

The King bestowed the King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the First Degree on Father Yousef Francis Yassa, in recognition of his humanitarian and social work in caring for orphans and serving the parish and shrine of Our Lady of the Mountain in Ajloun.
