In reflection of the Jubilee of Inmates, on 15 December, St. Mary’s Parish, Dubai, successfully held a meaningful outreach event at the Ladies Prison.
The joyous celebration was well attended and served as a powerful reminder that God’s love reaches every heart and that hope is never out of reach.
With the support and cooperation of the General Department of Correctional and Punitive Institutions, in line with the UAE’s values of tolerance and inclusivity, a Christmas celebration was organized, bringing smiles and hope to inmates of all religions and nationalities.
The event was graciously attended by Brigadier Salah Juma BuOsaibah, General Director; Colonel Jamila Al Zaabi; Bishop Paolo Martinelli, Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia; and Rev. Fr. Lennie Connully, parish priest of St. Mary’s Church, Dubai.
Santa’s visit, the sharing of gifts, and joyful music created a festive atmosphere, spreading cheer and uplifting spirits among the inmates. In addition, St. Mary’s Parish supports the repatriation of those who have completed their sentence and are awaiting return home, by providing air tickets.
St. Mary’s Parish and the Vicariate express their gratitude to the Government of UAE for making this event possible, in spirit of empathy and mercy. The Parish remains committed to continuing its outreach efforts, fostering hope and compassion, especially for those in need of support and encouragement.
