On Sunday, 16 August 2026, His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, visited the parish of the Redeemer in Jenin and its surrounding communities, in a pastoral visit that reflected the Church’s closeness to its faithful and its commitment to accompanying and supporting them, particularly amid the difficult circumstances facing the region.

His Beatitude presided over Mass at the ChurcH of the Redeemer at the Latin Convent in Jenin, concelebrated by the parish priest, Fr. Amer Jubran, and Fr. Davide Meli, Secretary General of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, in the presence of parishioners, youth leaders, and the children.

Following the celebration, His Beatitude met with the faithful in a warm and fatherly gathering, listening to their concerns and hopes and sharing in their joys and challenges. He reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to remaining close to her people, accompanying them in all circumstances.
