American University of Madaba (AUM) Chairman of the Board of Trustees Engineer Azzam Shweihat; AUM President Professor Adi Arida, and Engineer Majdi Dayyat, assistant to the president for accreditation and quality assurance and acting director of the international department, have welcomed Professor Joseph Farhat, assistant to the president at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), United States, to discuss the advancement of the partnership between the two institutions.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed mechanisms for implementing the academic and scientific partnership and student exchange agreement signed between American University of Madaba and Central Connecticut State University. The agreement is designed to strengthen institutional collaboration, promote the exchange of academic and research expertise, support curriculum and program development, and expand opportunities for student mobility.

The two universities agreed that students from American University of Madaba will begin participating in the student exchange program in the Spring 2027 semester. Under the agreement, participating students will continue to pay tuition fees to American University of Madaba in accordance with the University's approved tuition structure.

The delegation also discussed the possibility of CCSU providing partial financial support for one participating student from American University of Madaba.

A second area of discussion focused on the logistical preparations required for American University of Madaba to host students participating in summer international study programs from public universities in the State of Connecticut beginning in 2028. Under the proposed arrangement, AUM will serve as the host institution and primary base for these international study programs.

The third area of discussion addressed the framework for establishing a joint bachelor's degree program in mechanical engineering between the two universities. The proposed program would enable students from American University of Madaba to earn a joint bachelor's degree from both institutions by completing four years of study at AUM and one additional year at Central Connecticut State University.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and collaboration to finalize the necessary academic and administrative procedures, ensure the successful implementation of the agreement, provide comprehensive support for participating students, and further strengthen international cooperation between the two institutions.
