Concluding his visit to Smakieh, southern Jordan, on Sunday November 10, 2024, His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattistta Pizzaballa, Latin patriarch of Jerusalem, visited several public schools located in Smakieh, the “Roots” project, and launched several initiatives that contribute to supporting the local community.

In the framework of his four-day visit, he met with people of Smakieh at the Church hall and listened to their demands. They also paid tribute to this visit that exudes affection.

Cardinal Pizzaballa ended his visit  to Smakieh by celebrating Holy Mass with the congregation of believers. The Holy Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Khalid Qammoh, Fr. Aktham Hijazin, Chancellor of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem Fr. Davide Meli, and Deacon Za'al Hijazin.

It is worthy to note that during his four-day visit to Smakieh, Cardinal Pizzaballa visited the Latin Patriarchate School and urged students to be witnesses with their knowledge and faith, as well as to strive to build their beloved country, namely Jordan. He also anointed the sick, visited several families and governmental centers, as well as inaugurated several projects that serve the local community.
