His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, arrived in Smakieh, southern Jordan, on a four-day pastoral visit to the parish of St. Michael.

Upon arrival, he was warmly welcomed by parish priest Fr. Khalid Qammoh and a large number of the people of the town of Smakieh. Large crowds of people were present to welcome him during which Latin scouts from Zarqa played music. The parish priest wished that Cardinal Pizzaballa's visit would bring about blessings and grace to everybody, while Psalm 150 was prayed for the intention of his visit to the town of Smakieh.
