On Tuesday, September 13, the Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM) in Jordan organized a ceremony, held at the Royal Cultural Center in Amman and patronized by Minister of State for Media Affairs Fayez Shboul,  during which a book by historian Dr. Issam Suleiman Mousa titled, "The Jordanian Journalism over a Hundred Years"  was launched.

In an address, Shboul said: “Today we mark one of the most important intellectual achievements by Professor Dr. Issam Mousa in which he documents for present and future generations an important historical stage of the state’s life, and maps out the most accurate details relevant to media since the inception of the state until the present time.”

Underlining the importance of the book with regards to national documentation in the field of media or in various other fields, he noted the book will serve as an essential reference for researchers and scholars, as well as a rich and reliable source while listing the historical roots and contexts that paved the way for the emergence of the Jordanian press  and the stages it went through. He added that the book did not ignore documenting the life and efforts of journalists who paved the way for journalistic work at difficult times.

Director of the Catholic Center for Studies and Media Fr. Dr. Rifat Bader said that Jordan, under the leadership of the Hashemites has incorporated all the components of the state among which is journalism which Mousa chronicled in his book "Since the Era of the Emirate".

Fr.  Bader added that the Jordanian press was able to contribute to the country's stability, harmony, national unity, and strength. He also  referred to the efforts exerted by Christian Jordanians through their positive contributions, in their capacity as citizens and civilized partners in this country.

Historian Dr. Ali Mahafzah said that Dr. Mousa succeeded in presenting an outstanding study on the development of journalism since the emergence of the Jordanian state in 1921 until 2021.

During the ceremony, a short film was screened  reviewing the life of Dr. Issam Mousa, as well as his intellectual and academic achievements. At the end of the ceremony, Fr. Dr. Bader presented Dr. Mousa with the CCSM shield.
